What endpoint management costs when the vendor publishes a figure. It is the same shelf as an endpoint management solution, endpoint management tools and the endpoint management vendors behind them, so this page also covers what the best endpoint management software claims mean, where unified endpoint management tools and uem tools sit against a uem platform and day-to-day uem management, what autonomous endpoint management and automated endpoint management actually automate, how endpoint monitoring, endpoint monitoring software, endpoint performance monitoring, endpoint visibility and workstation monitoring differ, where mdm vs uem and emm vs mdm land, what mdm pricing looks like for mdm for msp, mdm msp and msp mdm buyers weighing the best mdm solutions, how byod software, byod management and byod management software are licensed, and what device inventory, remote device management, remote device management software, it lifecycle management and it lifecycle management software add

Endpoint management and RMM have converged to the point where the same product is sold under both names, and the pricing follows: per device, per month, on a curve that falls with volume. What separates the categories in practice is who is buying. An MSP buys RMM to manage other people's fleets; an internal IT team buys endpoint management to manage its own. The published numbers are the same numbers, and the terms around them are not.

Every vendor figure on this page was fetched from that vendor's own pricing page and matched word for word before it was published, with the date we checked.

How to price endpoint management for an internal fleet

  1. Count devices the way the vendor counts them. Servers, workstations, mobiles and virtual machines are not always priced alike, and a device that is off for a month may still be billable.
  2. Ask whether patching is included or an add-on. Third-party application patching in particular is a separate line at several vendors, and it is usually the reason you are buying.
  3. Ask what happens to the price at your renewal count. Volume tiers are the whole shape of this market. Ask which tier you land in this year and which you will land in next.
  4. Check what an agent costs on an unmanaged device. Discovery finds machines you did not know about. Whether they become billable the moment they appear is worth establishing early.

The published figures, and the volume curve underneath them

NinjaOne publishes both ends of its curve, which is rare and useful: as low as $1.50 USD per month at 10,000 endpoints, increasing to $3.75 USD at 50 or fewer endpoints, with the caveat that pricing varies by region and products purchased. An internal IT team with a few hundred devices sits nearer the top of that range than the bottom, and planning from the headline figure is how budgets go wrong.

Level publishes a flat $2 per device per month for every device on the account with the first ten free, which is a deliberately different structure: no tiers, no curve, and no negotiation. SuperOps prices 100 devices at $1.50 each. Across the three, an internal team of a few hundred devices should expect to plan somewhere between $1.50 and $3.75 a device a month before add-ons.

Why the internal buyer and the MSP get different terms

An MSP brings thousands of endpoints across dozens of clients and churns them constantly. An internal team brings a stable count and a longer commitment. Vendors price those differently even when the product is identical, and the internal buyer is usually the one paying more per device, because the volume that earns the discount is not there.

The lever an internal team has instead is term. A three-year commitment on a stable fleet is worth something to a vendor that spends its life managing MSP churn, and it is the argument to make. What it costs you is flexibility, so it is only a good trade if the fleet really is stable.

What the figure usually does not include

Endpoint security, backup and mobile device management are separately priced at most of these vendors, and they are frequently the reason a unified endpoint management project exists in the first place. A per-device figure that covers monitoring and patching but not security is a partial answer to the question you asked, and the gap is normally larger than the difference between two vendors' headline rates.

Ask for the whole deployed configuration priced as one number, per device, per month, for the count you will have at renewal. That single line is comparable across vendors. Nothing else on a pricing page reliably is.

Questions MSPs ask before they switch

How much does endpoint management cost per device?
On published figures, $1.50 to $3.75 a device a month. NinjaOne publishes $1.50 at 10,000 endpoints rising to $3.75 at 50 or fewer, SuperOps $1.50 at 100 devices, and Level a flat $2 with ten devices free.
Is endpoint management the same as RMM?
Increasingly the same product under two names. The difference is the buyer: an MSP managing clients' fleets against an internal team managing its own, and the commercial terms differ even when the software does not.
Does the price include patching and security?
Patching usually yes, third-party application patching sometimes not, and endpoint security almost always separately. Ask for the whole deployed configuration priced as one per-device figure.
Why is my quote higher than the published entry price?
Because published entry prices are quoted at high volumes. NinjaOne's own range moves by two and a half times between 10,000 endpoints and 50, and an internal fleet usually sits near the expensive end.
