MSP software is a stack rather than a product: an RMM agent, a PSA holding the tickets and the billing, patching, remote access, and usually backup and security beside them. Vendors sell it in different bundles at different boundaries, which is why comparing two quotes is so hard and why this record starts from the only fixed point available, which is what each vendor was willing to print on its own page.

How to compare MSP software without a spreadsheet of guesses
- Draw your own stack boundary first. Decide what you need in one contract before you look at bundles, or you will end up comparing a vendor's packaging decisions rather than your own requirements.
- Price it at the endpoint count you will have. Every published figure here is quoted at a volume. Price the fleet you expect at renewal, not the one you have this quarter.
- Ask each vendor to quote the same configuration. The only comparable number is one per-endpoint figure for the whole deployed stack. Ask for exactly that, in writing, from each shortlisted vendor.
- Separate the software decision from the migration decision. Switching PSA is much harder than switching RMM. A stack that is cheaper on paper can cost a quarter of unbillable hours to reach.
Four vendors publish, seven do not
NinjaOne publishes a range with both ends visible: as low as $1.50 USD per month at 10,000 endpoints, increasing to $3.75 USD at 50 or fewer endpoints, varying by region and products purchased. SuperOps publishes a calculator that prices its 100-endpoint minimum at $1.50 each, $150 a month on the Prime plan, on a plan carrying both RMM and PSA. Level publishes a flat $2 per device per month with the first ten free. Splashtop publishes a per-user ladder for remote access starting at $6 a month billed annually.
Against those four, Datto publishes a full RMM product page with no figure on it, and ConnectWise, Kaseya, Atera, HaloPSA and Action1 sit behind blocks no reader here could pass, with Pulseway rendering its numbers by script. That leaves this record able to state a published band for part of the market and honestly unable to state one for the rest.
Why the stack boundary decides more than the rate
A vendor selling RMM alone at $1.50 an endpoint and a vendor selling RMM, patching, documentation and endpoint security at $3.50 are not two prices for one thing. The second may be cheaper once the first has bought the other three modules elsewhere, and it is routine for the cheaper headline to end up the dearer contract by the time the stack is complete.
This is why the process step above matters more than any table: decide your own boundary, then make every vendor quote inside it. Vendors resist that, because packaging is where their margin lives, and it is exactly why insisting on it is worth the friction.
What free and low-cost tiers are actually for
Level publishes ten free devices and then $2 across the whole count. Action1 is the vendor most associated with a free patching tier in this market, though its page did not answer us and this record therefore carries no figure for it. A free tier at these sizes is under one small client, so it is not a business plan; it is a way to run the product against real machines before signing.
Used that way it is genuinely valuable, because the things that decide whether an RMM works for your team, how the agent behaves on a bad network and how long the console takes to do a routine job, are not on anybody's pricing page. Two weeks of real use tells you more than any comparison, including this one.
Questions MSPs ask before they switch
- How much does MSP software cost?
- Among the vendors here that publish, $1.50 to $2.00 an endpoint a month for RMM-centred plans, and $6 a user a month for standalone remote access. Seven of eleven vendors publish no figure this record could read.
- Which MSP software vendors publish their pricing?
- NinjaOne, SuperOps, Level and Splashtop. Datto publishes a product page with no price; ConnectWise, Kaseya, Atera, HaloPSA, Action1 and Pulseway published nothing we could read.
- Is a cheaper per-endpoint rate actually cheaper?
- Only if it covers the same stack. A rate for RMM alone and a rate for RMM plus patching, documentation and security are not comparable, and the cheaper headline often becomes the dearer contract.
- What should I ask every vendor for?
- One per-endpoint figure, in writing, for the whole configuration you would actually deploy, at the endpoint count you expect at renewal. Nothing else compares cleanly.
